Michael Huffmaster is Assistant Professor of German at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez. He received his Ph.D. (2010) and M.A. (2003) in German from the University of California, Berkeley. His current book project, Reading Kafka’s Mind: The Cognitive Poetics of a Multilingual Imagination, uses cognitive linguistic theory to explain the Kafkaesque. His research investigates how adult foreign language and literature study fosters critical and creative thinking skills.
